Immediately upon viewing this fast-paced and bright Tekken 8 trailer, we are led with a heavy emphasis on Kazuya Mishima as being the main antagonist in the Tekken plot as his Father Heihachi Mishima is now deceased. Kazuya is now the head of the King of Iron Fist Tournament. In terms of storyline, there seems to be indications that this iteration of the game may be "tying up" many storyline facets to potentially strike up new ideas for the future of Tekken.
There is a huge emphasis on its 32-player roster, but even with this large number, many fans are worried that Julia, Lei, and Anna have been left out only to become DLC characters just like in Tekken 7 once again. Fortunately, a fan-favorite Lee Chaolan has been showcased to return as well.
The "fight lounge" was also displayed with heavy emphasis as it seems this new Tekken installment will have an all-new social online experience based on personalized avatars, which you can create to mingle/fight with other real-life players in a virtual arcade.
This official launch trailer ends with a screen reading "Pre- Order Now" and a release date of January 26th, 2024 - less than a week away!
